Tallon Griekspoor v Marcos Giron Head to Head

The pair have played each other once before on the senior tour, and that was in Montpellier last year, Griekspoor winning in three sets.

They also met in qualifying for the Rome Masters earlier this year, and Griekspoor won that match as well.

Griekspoor Has Not Won Since Winston Salem

It has been largely a year of consolidation for Griekspoor after all the success that he enjoyed on the Challenger tour last year, although he showed he remains an effective performer at that level by winning another title on home soil in July.

However, he did reach his first quarter-final on the senior tour back in Melbourne at the start of the year, and, for a brief while, was a top 50 player.

Results, though, latterly have been disappointing and, since reaching the second round in Winston Salem he has failed to win a match.

That run continued last week in Antwerp with a straight sets defeat in the European Open to Dan Evans.

San Diego Finalist Giron

Giron recently reached his first senior final in San Diego, beating Evans along the way, before eventually losing to compatriot Brandon Nakashima.

Prior to that, his best result in 2022 had come as far back as February, where he was a semi-finalist in Dallas, although there were a couple of quarter-finals interspersed in between.

Since returning to Europe, he reached the second round in Gijon, but he suffered the same fate in Antwerp as Griekspoor.

Beaten in the first round, this time by fellow American Sebastian Korda in three sets.

Griekspoor v Giron Prediction and Tip

Whilst Griekspoor has the better head to head record, he is in the midst of a poor run of form right now, whilst Giron can look back on a recent final. That makes him the favourite.
