It is 1-1 from their two meetings. The Canadian won in Acapulco last year, while Korda won this year in Estoril.

Auger-Aliassime Seeks Second Title in Two Weeks

After winning his second career title in Florence last week, Felix Auger-Aliassime has continued the unbeaten run in Antwerp, winning three on the trot this week and reaching a 12th final of his career.

His latest win came over the veteran Richard Gasquet in the semifinal on Saturday. Auger-Aliassime didn’t face a single break point in the semifinal, and also created just one breaking chance for himself, which he couldn’t convert. However, he served well throughout the match and dominated the two tiebreaks to knock out the world no. 82, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-3) in just over two hours.

The world no. 10, who extended his unbeaten streak to seven matches, out-aced Gasquet 22-7 and he won 85% (44 of 52) points on his first serve.

The Canadian also hit 45 winners in the contest and made just 12 unforced errors in the match.

Auger-Aliassime, who beat Manuel Guinard 6-3, 6-3 in the second round, had scored a comeback win over Dan Evans in the quarterfinal, beating the Briton 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

The second seed will now be contesting in his fourth final of the season. He triumphed in Rotterdam and Florence and finished second-best in Marseile. Can he earn his third title on Sunday?

Korda Battles Past Thiem

Just like Auger-Aliassime, Sebastian Korda too will be playing in a final for the second week in a row. However, unlike the Canadian, Korda didn’t win the title last week, finishing runner-up to Andrey Rublev in the Gijon Open final.

The American found his way into a second consecutive final with a gutsy comeback win over Dominic Thiem on Saturday.

The 22-year-old lost the first set in the tiebreak, but he outplayed the Austrian in the second to force the deciding set. Neither player refused to give up in the final set, with Thiem coming back from a break down and taking the set into another tiebreak, but this time it was the world no. 36 who dominated the tiebreak to take the two-hour-and-44-minute contest 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Korda served 11 aces, struck 50 winners and converted 4 of 5 break points, while saving 1 of 3 in the contest.

This was the second time in the tournament when he needed three sets to win the match. He had begun the tournament with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 victory over Marcos Giron in the first round and then scored straight set wins over Karen Khachanov and Yoshihito Nishioka.

Playing in his second final of the season on Sunday, can he go on to claim his second career title?

Auger-Aliassime v Korda Prediction and Tip

This is expected to be a very good contest. While both players bring excellent form into the final, Auger-Aliassime holds the edge. He is 47-24 this season, has won two titles and will be playing in his fourth final. What’s more, he has won seven matches on the trot. He will be challenged by Korda, but should lift his third title on Sunday.
