Khachanov Looking to Win Again

Karen Khachanov had a solid showing in Astana winning a couple of matches but lost to Novak Djokovic. He made his way to Antwerp hoping for something similar but he didn’t get it as Sebastian Korda proved better in a fairly close match.

The Russian has had a very good year with some notable performances and an overall score of 33-23. He’s been always very good indoors due to his serve which is very hard to counter when it works well. His biggest singles title came in Paris a couple of years ago and that was indoors.

Form lately has been really solid with a semi-final at the US Open and some solid performances indoors. He did not play as many matches as Wolf but he’s certainly the more complete player. It’s a toss up when we compare consistency and that’s why I think we’ll see plenty of games here.

Wolf Keeps On Winning

J.J. Wolf elected to leave his native US to play some tennis indoors in Europe and it’s paying off in a major way. Some spectacular performances and a final for the young American who will have a chance to solidify himself as a great player.

He’s already broken out as he essentially is staring  a top-50 finish at the end of the year and ti’s mostly due to some really strong showings lately. Indoors work well for him because he’s been serving well and his forehand is a major weapon that makes it really easy for him to finish off points.

There is plenty of things that he’ll need to improve for the next step but he’s pretty strong overall. He has confidence and won’t back down easily. Facing Khachanov for the first time will give him a chance to surprise the Russian and that might be key.

Khachanov v Wolf Prediction and Tip

I could see a way for Wolf to win this match because this is the typical Khachanov disappointment incoming. However, I’ll back the over because I do think the Russian will keep it close even if it isn’t his day.
