Miomir Kecmanovic is coming off of a strong week in Napoli where he made the semi-final getting beaten by Lorenzo Musetti in two sets. The Serbian had a brilliant start to the season starting what many thought would be a major breakout year.
It did not end up being that but he solidified himself as one of the better players in the top 50 of the ATP tour. The Serbian posted a 39-24 record so far but this will be his first indoor event. He played some indoor matches earlier in the Davis Cup and did well with his overall career record indoors rather mixed.
Only 20 wins and 19 defeats so nothing special. He’s far better outdoors but he can play well enough and defeat solid players if they give him a chance. He’s also quite consistent in the sense that he keeps playing well for a time before regressing. It’s not so evident from match to match but rather from month to month.

Fokina Hoping for Wins
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina played two events since the US Open and he is yet to record a win.
His last one was at the US Open and since then it’s been a defeat to Matteo Berrettini at the US Open, a defeat to Pavel Kotov in Astana and a defeat to Andy Murray in Gijon.
Most of his matches were plagued by his inability to play consistent tennis. He’s one of those players like Fognini and Bublik where you never know what you will truly get.
His best surface is clay and you can expect a strong effort there always but not so much on other surfaces.
He mixes his tennis rather well and can play both attacking and defensive. He leans more towards attacking but that makes him very prone to errors and there are plenty of matches where he plays himself out of them. Not the best year overall with a 21-24 record and 0-4 indoors.

Generally speaking, the Spaniard could win this match but he’s been so inconsistent that it’s hard to back him. I’ll take the Serbian to win it and live with the result.
