Iga Swiatek v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head

Swiatek holds a domineering 4-1 lead over Kasatkina; all those victories came in 2022 itself, with the last one being in the French Open semifinal 6-2, 6-1.

Swiatek, Ready for the Ultimate Showdown

There is no denying that World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is the player to beat in Texas. Her record is at a phenomenal 64-8 with close to $9.5 million in prize money.

She also has two majors, four WTA 1000 titles, two WTA 500 trophies, and one runner-up silverware from WTA Ostrava.

The 21-year-old last played in San Diego, where she won the tournament after beating the likes of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula (both competing in WTA Finals) and Donna Vekic.

This is Iga’s second time in the tournament; last year, she was beaten in the robin round itself, but her chances of going further are obviously high this time. That said, when the stakes are this high, anything can happen.

Kasatkina, Making her WTA Finals Debut

World No. 8 Daria Kasatkina – a career-best ranking for her – is making her WTA Finals debut after qualifying for the tournament just in the nick of time. Interestingly enough, she is 3-4 in her last four competitions, losing to Anna Kalinskaya most recently in Guadalajara.

But owing to her two titles from San Jose and Granby, alongside semifinal showings in the French Open and Italian Open, Kasatkina kept herself in contention in the race to the Finals.

Her record is 40-20, and needless to say, she has seen her fair share of shock losses – notably to Harriet Dart, Katerina Siniakova, Sara Sorribes Tormo, and Aliaksandra Sasnovich. At the same time, many of those defeats came at the hands of fairly well-established, prominent players.

Swiatek v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip

Swiatek has not dropped a set in her last four meetings with Kasatkina. Moreover, she has lost just 14 games to the Russian. The Pole is the heavy favourite here and backing her is the way to go.
