Coco Gauff v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head
Kasatkina leads 2-0, beating Gauff as recently as the 2022 Stuttgart Open in straight sets.

Daria Kasatkina finds herself in a must-win match after losing to Iga Swiatek 2-6, 3-6. Having won just 29% of the games in that match, the Russian is now at the bottom of the Group Tracy Austin.
It wasn’t a bad performance from the 25-year-old; she committed just 9 unforced errors, but Swiatek was far too good.
Now ranked World No. 8, Kasatkina is playing in her first WTA Finals after making the cut just in nick of time. She was an alternate in the 2018 edition but didn’t have a chance back then to play in the robin round.
Her record at the moment for 2022 stands at 40-21.
On the whole, she had a decent year, with her highlights being the two titles from San Jose and Granby, alongside semifinal showings in the French Open and Italian Open.
However, she is now 3-5 in her last five competitions – including the Finals. She will need to be careful against Gauff.

Gauff in a Better Position
Coco Gauff also lost her opening bout against Caroline Garcia, but not by as big a margin. She went down 4-6, 3-6 on the back of only 14 unforced errors but just 12 winners.
She is ranked 3rd in the group, and a win here will certainly improve her chances of reaching the semis.
In all fairness, her chances are still pretty good. Looking at her season, she is already ranked World No. 4 at just 18 years of age.
Her record is 38-20, and her big hit is the runner-up feat in the French Open, along with quarterfinal-round appearances in the US Open, WTA Doha, Canadian Open, and the Guadalajara Open.
What’s even more impressive is her ability to punch above her weight; she beat the likes of Madison Keys, Shuai Zhang, Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, Karolina Pliskova, Angelique Kerber, and Paula Badosa.
Gauff has also impressed on the doubles circuit with titles from Doha and Toronto and the runner-up trophy from Paris.
Gauff v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip
The match can go either way; Gauff is young, and experience makes a difference at this stage, but then again, her opponent is not in the best form either. We may be looking at a long affair here.
