Novak Djokovic v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head

Novak Djokovic extended his current streak to 11 matches as he ousted Karen Khachanov in the the third round of the Paris Masters on Thursday.
The clinical performance saw the Serb get broken once in the match while he converted half of the eight break points that he held to beat Khachanov 6-4, 6-1 in an hour and 28 minutes. The victory improved Djokovic to 8-1 over the Russian, who had got his only win over the world no. 7 at the Paris Masters final in 2018.
Djokovic has not lost a match at Paris Masters since that defeat to Khachanov and Thursday’s win was his 12th straight in the tournament. The six-time champion won the titles in 2019 and 2021 and has improved his tournament record to 43-8.
Djokovic is coming off back-to-back title wins in Tel Aviv and Astana. The 21-time Grand Slam champion also won the Wimbledon and the Italian Open titles earlier this year and finished runner-up in Belgrade.
He is chasing a 91st career title in the tournament and is two wins away from a 129th career final.
Djokovic began the tournament with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 victory over Maxime Cressy. He didn’t face a break point against the American, but converted 1 of 5 to edge out Cressy. He looked far more convincing against the Russian and will hope to extend the streak on Friday.

Musetti Upsets Third Seed Ruud
Lorenzo Musetti fought back from a set down to upset third seed Casper Ruud in the third round on Thursday to reach his maiden ATP 1000 quarterfinal.
Musetti lost the first set after being broken in the final game, but he came back in the second and then got the solitary break of the third to seal a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory. The two hour and 20 minute contest saw the Italian win 77% points on the back of his first delivery and he struck 38 winners on his way to upsetting the world no. 4.
Musetti has been in amazing form recently. He was a semifinalist in back-to-back tournaments in Sofia and Florence, and then won his second title of the season by winning in Napoli. He was however knocked out in the first round in Basel last week, but has returned to winning ways in Paris.
Musetti knocked out Marin Cilic 6-4, 6-4 in the opening round and then defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-4, 6-2 in round 2.
The Italian, who won his maiden ATP title in Hamburg earlier this year, has improved his season record to 33-24. He is 11-3 from the last 14 matches and will be looking to continue the good work against Djokovic on Friday.
