Jil Teichmann v Zhibek Kulambayeva Head to Head

Teichmann made the quarterfinal at WTA Dubai and followed it up three strong clay court performances in Madrid, Rome and the French Open.
At the Madrid Open, Teichmann reached the semifinal while entering the quarterfinals in Rome and the fourth round at Roland-Garros.
Since then, however, Teichmann’s performances have tapered off. That loss of form has coincided with the end of the clay swing, resulting in the Swiss player winning just three of the 13 main draw matches she’s played in.
Teichmann might be taking on a player ranked outside the top 400 and should not have a lot of problems here but she would love to find a way to make easy work of her going into the rest of the competition.

Kulambayeva’s Never Been in the Top 400
She is just 22 years of age and hasn’t played a lot of competitive tennis but Kulambayeva would definitely love to climb up the rankings ladder quickly. Currently ranked 441st in the world, Kulambayeva’s best ever ranking is 414th, and she has won just two ITF titles so far.
What makes things slightly more difficult than they already are for Kulambayeva is the fact that she prefers clay over any other surface.
Both those titles also came on clay and add the fact that there is a clear preference for red dirt, as can be seen from the number of tournaments she’s played on it and the number of matches she has won as compared to hard court surfaces.
The good news is even her opponent is bit of a clay-courter herself, but will that be enough for Kulambayeva to get going?
