Marie Bouzkova v Anna Blinkova Head to Head
Bouzkova leads Blinkova 2-1 in their head-to-head, with all three matches contested on hard courts. Bouzkova defeated Blinkova in their last outing on Australian soil in a qualifying match at the Adelaide International last year.

Marie Bouzkova held off a spirited challenge by former World No. 58 Jaqueline Cristian to reach the second round of the Hobart International. She won 7-6 6-3 in just over two hours.
Cristian entered this tournament with a protected ranking after missing a huge chunk of the 2022 season due to a serious knee injury. And she came close to netting the first set, earning a crucial break for a 4-2 lead, and served for the first at 5-4. But Bouzkova is not a top seed just by name, but she fought back, using her quick feet to outmaneuver the Romanian’s surgically repaired knee.
Bouzkova did very well to force a tiebreak after looking out of the first set. There, Cristian imploded, as the World No. 26 dominated it from start to finish.
In the second set, Bouzkova overcame a slow start and broke Cristian at the very end of the set, before serving her way to victory.

Blinkova Bests Bronzetti
Anna Blinkova took an hour and 38 minutes to dispatch Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti 6-4 6-3 and book her spot in the second round of the WTA Hobart International.
Blinkova, who came through qualifying, is yet to drop a set in three matches and her latest win evokes memories of her title run in Cluj-Napoca as a qualifier last autumn.
The first set was tightly contested, with both players exchanging breaks in the opening two games. But as the set went on, it was Bronzetti who was under pressure on her serve, first surviving a couple of deuce games to hold for 2-2. Blinkova though was not to be denied in the 10th game of the set where she fired to clean winners in succession to bag the set.
In the second set, a fatigued Bronzetti was broken at 3-2, giving Blinkova a free path to end proceedings. And the Russian duly delivered, reeling off three of the next four games to win the match.
Bouzkova v Blinkova Prediction and Tip
Blinkova won her first WTA title in Cluj-Napoca as a qualifier which is no mean feat and is dreaming of doing the same this week. But she is going to have a hard time putting away one of the quickest players on Tour in Bouzkova. The top seed should be expected to move on unscathed.
