David Goffin v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
There have been five previous meetings between these two players and Goffin leads Gasquet 3-2.
The last time they faced off was in Antwerp last year and it was Gasquet who had come away a winner in the quarterfinal.

Starting out as a 2/5 favourite in his second round match against Joao Sousa, Gasquet lived up to that top billing as he carved out a straight-set win. Gasquet reached the quarterfinal in an hour and 35 minutes, winning the match 7-6 (2), 6-2.
The Frenchman, who had routed Kiwi wildcard Kiranpal Pannu in the first round, held on to his serve throughout the encounter while facing just two break-points in it.
On the other hand, once he had taken command of the opening tie-breaker, he squeezed the pressure on Sousa’s first serve in the second set and earned himself two breaks of serves.
Gasquet had earlier crashed out of the first round of the Adelaide International last week but his performance this week compensates for that showing and could help him break back into the top 60 of the ATP Rankings.

Goffin Cruises against Eubanks
Goffin needed only an hour and 18 minutes to make short work of Christopher Eubanks and move into the quarterfinal.
Following on from a 6-3, 6-4 thrashing of Alexander Bublik, Goffin dropped only six games in his demolition of his American opponent. He won 6-2, 6-4, surviving 12 aces from Eubanks as he won 81% of his first serves.
Where Goffin did face an issue was his second serves as Eubanks attacked them and won 10 of the 16 points on offer. Goffin’s response was to save all the six break-points he faced while breaking his opponent three times.
Goffin had entered this tournament on the back of successive defeats at the United Cup but a couple of wins here should get him his confidence back.
Goffin v Gasquet Prediction and Tip
If Goffin’s performance in the first two rounds is any indication he could go a long way in this tournament. Expect him to win here and might even do that in straight sets.
