Cori Gauff v Emma Raducanu Head to Head

Gauff had raced off to a title win in Auckland in the first week of the season and continued to exhibit similar form in her opener at the Australian Open.
Having not dropped a single set en route her tournament win at the WTA Auckland, Gauff clinched a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Katerina Siniakova to reach the second round here. Gauff was on court for a mere hour and 16 minutes.
The American teenager did not waste too much time in the opening set and broke her opponent two times out of the two opportunities she got. Gauff herself did not face any break-points.
In the second, however, Siniakova did look like she could push her opponent when she went 4-2 ahead. Gauff, undeterred, raised her game at will and won the next four games in a row to march forward.

Raducanu Shrugs Ankle Injury Aside
Raducanu had retired from her second round match at the Auckland Open in tears after twisting her ankle.
In the lead-up to this tournament in Melbourne, she had been cautious about the way she was feeling about her fitness but the manner in which she moved on court in her first round match would give her some a nice boost.
The former US Open winner did not spend a lot of time on court as she demolished Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets to emulate her 2022 Australian Open showing.
In a match lasting an hour and 26 minutes, Raducanu was broken twice in the first set to bring the players level at 3-3 but from that point onward played supremely well and lost just two of the next 11 games. She clinched her second round berth 6-3, 6-2.
The problem for Raducanu now is she might have shown what she is capable of but she is facing the player of the season so far. Doubt things will be as easy as they were in round one.

Gauff should have no trouble getting past Raducanu here and bagging her third round spot in straight sets. She is 3/10 to win this one.
