Beatriz Haddad Maia v Marie Bouzkova Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two and that came at the 2022 Monterrey Open. Haddad Maia had won that but only just, needing a final set tie-breaker to get there.

Haddad Maia seemed to have made a pretty solid start to the season but enters this tournament in Abu Dhabi on the back of successive defeats.
It started at the United Cup where Haddad Maia won both her singles matches in straight sets but unfortunately for her, Brazil were knocked out early. That did not seem to bother her too much coming into the Adelaide International 2 though as she crunched through both her first two opponents on her way to the quarterfinals.
In the first round, Haddad Maia sent Sorana Cirstea packing before registering a straight-set win over Amanda Anisimova, making it four victories in a row.
After that, Haddad Maia has hit bit of a lull though.
She lost to Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals there and then fell in the very first round of the Australian Open, two losses that might not have gone down too well with her.

Bouzkova Struggling to Replicate 2022 Successes
Bouzkova hit a career-high ranking of 24th in the world in 2022 after winning her maiden WTA title and making it as far as the semifinal stage of the WTA 1000 competition in Guadalajara.
This year, she hasn’t quite been able to replicate the same success, having won just two of the five matches she has played in.
Starting out at the United Cup, Bouzkova fell to Madison Keys in her first singles match before pulling one back against Germany’s Jule Niemeier in the second.
A straight-set win over Jacqueline Cristian at the Hobart International looked to have gotten her going but Anna Blinkova then shocked Bouzkova despite starting out as a 21/10 underdog in that encounter.
And when Bouzkova fell in the first round of the Australian Open, things had gone from bad to worse.
It’s still early days in the season but Bouzkova will need to turn things around and quickly at that if she wants to retain a place in the top 30 of the WTA Rankings. Unfortunately for her, she resumes her season with an opening round match against the world number 14.
