Marcos Giron v Alex Rybakov Head to Head

A semifinalist last year, world no. 55 Marcos Giron will begin his 2023 Dallas campaign against a qualifier on Tuesday.
The American has played three tournaments so far this season and has a 3-3 record in them. He beat Richard Gasquet in the season opener in Adelaide, but lost to Alexei Popyrin in the next round.
In his next assignment, Giron made it to the quarterfinals in Auckland, defeating Federico Coria and JJ Wolf, but Cameron Norrie prevented him from making the final four.
At the Australian Open, Giron was decimated by Daniil Medvedev due to which his winless run in the first major extended to 0-4.
The 29-year-old had an 18-28 run last year, which included his first ever ATP final in San Diego in 2022. He however failed to clinch the title, going down to Brandon Nakashima. His second best performance last year came in Dallas, where he beat Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals but lost to Jenson Brooksby in the semifinal.
But he struggled with consistency for most parts of 2022. He will hope to be more consistent this year and also hope to equal or better his last year’s exploits in Dallas.

Rybakov to Make His Debut
World no. 378 Alex Rybaov made it past the qualifiers and will now be making his ATP main draw debut on Tuesday.
Th 26-year-old American defeated Germany’s Elmar Ejupovic 7-5, 6-3 in the second qualifying round on Monday. He did not face a single break point in the match but converted 2 of 3 to get his second straight sets win in a row.
He had beaten the Czech Republic’s Jonas Forejtek 6-4, 6-4 in the first qualifying round. Interestingly he did not face a break point in that match either, converting 2 of 5.
Rybakov began his 2023 campaign in the Cleveland Challenger last week but lost in the first round. The left-hander had a 39-23 season last year reaching a number of quarterfinals at the Challenger and Futures level but not going beyond.
Making his debut in Dallas, can he make an early impression?
