John Isner v JJ Wolf Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two, with Isner winning that Atlanta Open 2021 encounter match in three sets.

Having lost the only two matches he had played this season before this tournament and having fallen to 39th in the world, there were murmurs over Isner’s immediate future. Talks of Isner no longer being in his prime looked to have surfaced.
No such issues for Isner in this tournament as he recorded his third successive straight-set win to make it to the semifinal of the Dallas Open.
Not very surprisingly too, Isner needed a tie-breaker and broke his opponent, Emilio Gomez’s serve just once in the one hour, 47 minute encounter. In turn, Isner went unbroken, serving up 23 aces and saving a set-point in the process in the opening set.
This follows victories over Chun Hsin Tseng and Daniel Altmaier in the first two rounds for Isner.
Isner faces his first real challenge of this tournament and it could be a great indicator about his immediate future too.

Wolf Triumphs Over Tiafoe
In what turned out to be a big upset, Wolf overturned a one set deficit to defeat Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinal despite having gone into the match as a 9/5 underdog in the match.
Wolf needed two hours and seven minutes against the world number 14 to carve out a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win and win the third match in a row in a tournament for the second successive time.
Having defeated Brandon Holt and Radu Albot in the first two rounds, Wolf dropped his serve twice in the first set to concede the lead to Tiafoe. That, however, was followed by Wolf facing just two break-points in the following two sets, both of which he saved.
In a match of fine margins, he had two opportunities apiece in those two sets to get past the Tiafoe serve and broke him once in each of them to claim his place in the last four.
Wolf starts off as a slight favourite in this one given the kind of overall form he has shown in recent times.
