Who is Playing at the 2023 ATP Marseille Open?

The 2023 ATP Marseille Open will feature 28 players in the singles draw, being led on the front by Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.

Hurkacz replaces Holger Rune as the top seed after the young Dane was forced to pull out from the tournament as he steps up his recovery from the wrist injury he picked up in Rotterdam.

There is also significant doubt about Jannik Sinner’s participation despite being included in the initial entry list. Sinner is currently pursuing a second successive title win at the Rotterdam Open having won Montpellier the week before. He is likely to withdraw due to fatigue.

18-year-old Arthur who took many by surprise in Montpellier has earned a main draw wild card, while countryman and veteran Richard Gasquet will be playing this tournament for the 12th time.

Four players will join from qualifying while one more wild card is up for grabs.

Our 2023 ATP Marseille Open Predictions & Picks

With news of Holger Rune missing out, and potentially Jannik Sinner withdrawing in order to rest, it could open up the door for a number of the established Top 50 mainstays.

Hubert Hurkacz will be the top seed and has triumphed on French soil before when he won Metz two years ago. He is a man with the experience and know-how to get things done in these conditions.

Grigor Dimitrov is a perennial danger on indoor hard courts although it remains to be seen whether he will commit here depending on how he does in his semifinal match in Rotterdam.

France’s Benjamin Bonzi is a player who is attracting plenty of interest in the outrights. Bonzi reached his first ATP final in Pune this year and took a set off Jannik Sinner in the first round of Rotterdam.

The 26-year-old has won two Challenger titles on the indoor hard courts on home soil, and he’s got some searing power to swat opponents away on fast surfaces. We like Bonzi’s chances as the underdog this week.
