Beatriz Haddad Maia v Sorana Cirstea Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these players at the highest level and both have won one match apiece. The second of those matches came earlier this year in Adelaide where Haddad Maia had won.

And then in Doha, Haddad Maia registered shock wins over Paula Badosa and Daria Kasatkina to reach the last eight.

Cirstea on a Five-Match Losing Streak
This will be Cirstea’s sixth tournament of the season and she has won just one main draw match. And that came in the first round of the first tournament she had featured in in 2023.
Since then she hasn’t won a single main draw match spread across five tournaments.
At Adelaide where she won that opener, Cirstea was sent packing in the second round by Ons Jabeur. The Adelaide International 2, she made it through the qualifiers before Haddad Maia got the better of her in the opener while Cirstea lost to Yulia Putintseva in the Australian Open first round.
Marta Kostyuk got the better of her in Abu Dhabi and when Cirstea could not even get past Jil Teichmann in the qualifiers of the WTA Doha, it meant she had fallen to 70th in the world.
She would need to turn things around drastically if she has to usurp a player of the quality of Haddad Maia.
