Dimitrov Makes Rotterdam Semifinal

On his return to Rotterdam for the first time in three years, Grigor Dimitrov reached the semifinal, signaling a very impressive start to his indoor hard-court swing.

Following his third-round exit at the Australian Open to Novak Djokovic, Dimitrov was 3-2 for the season on arrival in Rotterdam. But his strong record in the Netherlands down the years made him a favorite to make a deep run.

And so he did, beating Aslan Karatsev and Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets. And in the quarterfinal, he saved a couple of match points to defeat Alex De Minaur, finishing the match with one astonishing match point conversion you will see all year.

Dimtrov’s charge was halted in the last four by eventual champion Daniil Medvedev. The Bulgarian will be aiming to improve on his winless record in Marseille. He has lost in the first round in each of his two previous visits, but that was over a decade ago.

Brouwer Beats Ymer In Three

Gijs Brouwer is enjoying a productive stay on the ATP Tour after picking his third main draw victory of the season with a three-set win over Elias Ymer.

The Dutchman’s potential shone during the course of 2022, when he scored some eye-catching wins over the likes of J.J. Wolf and Adrian Mannarino and even took a set off Lorenzo Musetti at the US Open.

Brouwer cashed in on his main draw wild card at his tournament in Rotterdam this past week, reaching his second ATP quarterfinal and undoubtedly the biggest, after scoring wins over Marc-Andrea Huesler and Holger Rune (albeit via a retirement).

On Tuesday, he put Ymer under a barrage of constant winners and powerful serves. Brouwer manufactured 20 break points in the match, and converted five, although his serve was equally penetrable after dropping it four times.

Dimitrov v Brouwer Prediction and Tip

Dimitrov needs total focus here. Brouwer is playing very and could be an obstacle for the higher-ranked Bulgarian. We still expect the fourth seed to come through, but plenty of value in the sets spread here.
