Cameron Norrie v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

There have been four previous meetings between these two players and Norrie leads 3-1. In hardcourt competitions, it’s 2-1 in favour of the Brit.

The last of these matches came at the 2021 Delray Beach Open which Norrie won.

In-Form Norrie a Finalist Last Year

With wins over the likes of John Isner and Stefanos Tsitsipas, Norrie had made it all the way through to the final in this competition last year where he lost to Rafael Nadal.

And while it might have been on clay so far, Norrie’s form coming into this tournament has been so irrepressible, it looks very likely he will be a favourite to go the distance again this season.

After making it to the final at the Auckland Open earlier this season where Norrie was a shock loser at the hands of Richard Gasquet, he reached a second title-decider on the clay courts of Buenos Aires more recently. He lost to Carlos Alcaraz in that match.

Norrie followed that up with another one in Rio where the Brit won against Alcaraz in three sets from a set and a break down to clinch his first title of the season.

He might be up against a tricky opponent here but confidence-wise, Norrie will be on the cloud nine.

Mannarino Makes Opening Exit at Monterrey Challenger

In a probable bid to get used to the Mexican conditions, Mannarino featured in the Monterrey Challenger last week but was laid low in the very first round there.

It was a surprise loss because Mannarino wasn’t just a favourite in the match against Aleksandar Kovacevic, he was also the tournament favourite starting out as the top seed.

Mannarino has had a couple of solid results otherwise though. At both the hardcourt competitions he played on American soil recently – at Dallas and Delray Beach – the Frenchman made it to the last eight stage.

A win over JJ Wolf at one of those two made for excellent viewing, as did his performances against local lads Jordan Thompson and Steve Johnson. Now comes a rather tough opponent but one who hasn’t played in a hardcout competition in a while. Can Mannarino take advantage of that?

Norrie v Mannarino Prediction and Tip

Norrie is 11/20 to win this and the only big reason he isn’t shorter than those odds is because of his time at clay-court competitions. The adjustment could take its time. We would still have to go with him for this win but not without a fight.
