Marta Kostyuk v Madison Brengle Head to Head
It’s 1-1 between the two players. They last met in the 2022 Italian Open where Brengle won in straight sets.

Marta Kostyuk will likely be happy with how the season has gone for her so far. Although she hasn’t reached any finals, she is currently just two spots away from her career-best ranking of #49.
The 20-year-old made this happen on the back of consistent results. In Adelaide 1 and Hua Hin, she reached the quarterfinal while in the Australian Open, she made it as far as the third round.
In Doha and Dubai, similarly, Kostyuk reached round two before running into Belinda Bencic in both events. While Marta lost, she did go down fighting by giving the Swiss a run for her money.
Here in Austin, the number eight seed dismissed Dalma Galfi in the first round 7-5, 6-1 to set up the clash with Brengle.
Her tally now stands at 11-6; with close to $300,000 in prize money and some valuable experience, she is building herself for a nice spell forward.

Brengle Beats Chirico
Madison Brengle has just delivered her second WTA win of the season by beating Louisa Chirico in the first round. The home favourite won the match 6-2, 7-6(3) to improve her year-to-date record of 4-7.
A former top 40 player, the American is now ranked at the 95th spot – making it more and more likely that she will move out of the top 100 fairly soon.
In her last two tournaments – Dubai and Doha – she couldn’t make it past the qualifiers, having lost to Katarina Zavatska and Viktoriya Tomova. Across the Australian swing and WTA Lyon, Brengle was beaten in the first round itself. She found some solace in Linz where she won her opening game but lost to Donna Vekic next.
At 32 years of age, Madison is well-experienced, but her lack of form does not bode well for her. Last season, she did win three ITF titles – can she now take it up a notch?
Kostyuk v Brengle Prediction and Tip
Kostyuk should be confident of winning this one, but it may not be easy. She should brace for some resistance from the home favourite.
