Victoria Azarenka v Karolina Muchova Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Azarenka had won that at the 2020 US Open.

She is a two-time winner at the Indian Wells Open and at 33, a veteran on the circuit but it’s amazing to see Azarenka’s hunger to win matches having not dwindled one bit.
The world number 14 is continuing to dish out excellent performances even now and that can be seen from the manner in which she reached the semifinal at the Australian Open earlier this year.
Azarenka had defeated Sofia Kenin, Madison Keys, Lin Zhu and Jessica Pegula on her way to her defeat at the hands of Elena Rybakina.
In the two tournaments that have followed, Azarenka was sent out by Belinda Bencic in Doha and then made the third round in Dubai where she stumbled against Madison Keys. The common refrain, however, in all of this is it takes a player of high pedigree to knock Azarenka off her perch.
Which is why she will begin very confidently in this second round encounter.

Muchova Uneasy in Win over Putintseva
It took Muchova two hours and 22 minutes in the end but the 2/5 favourite finally came through in her opening round fixture against Yulia Putintseva.
Things looked to be headed in Muchova’s direction as the pre-match odds suggested they would when she shrugged off an early break exchange to take a 4-2 lead in the first set. She held on to her serve to pocket the set from that point on.
In the second she fell a break behind but broke back when Putintseva served for the set at 5-3. Unfortunately for Muchova, she dropped her serve in the very next game to allow her opponent to level the match at a set apiece.
And when she lost her serve again and was 2-4 behind in the decider, the writing looked to be on the wall for Muchova. The Czech, however, exemplified a great fighting spirit to come back from there to win the next four games in a row and seal her second round berth.
The former world number 19 will need to do a lot better than this against Azarenka.
