Daniil Medvedev v Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

A very interesting quarter-final matchup between two players who feel very differently about these courts. Fokina enjoys them because they do play similarly to clay where he plays his best tennis but Medvedev hates them for the same reason.

It makes winning a match very tough for him because he needs to hit several great shots to get the point which is not how he’d like to play tennis. Medvedev and Fokina played two times so far and both times it was the Russian who won the match.

The second one was actually played this year in a very slow indoor hard court in Rotterdam and Medvedev won that too. It did however get to three sets which indicate that Fokina could exploit some of Medvedev’s problems. The Russian also is dealing with an ankle problem which might prove tricky.

It all depends on the ankle but we could certainly see the case for Fokina winning this match if Medvedev takes to the courts.

Tip: Davidovich Fokina to win the match: 7/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Cameron Norrie v Frances Tiafoe

A really interesting one will take place between Norrie and Tiafoe. Both of them have shined so far at the event and both are really strong athletes who navigate these slowers courts really well. Norrie has been playing well on clay lately which helps him here while Tiafoe is just being Tiafoe on American soil.

They played two times so far and Norrie won both times though the matches are somewhat old. It’s been two years since they played and both are better tennis players right now, Tiafoe especially. I think overall, it falls on the racquet of the American.

If he produces a sensational level like he can this will be a matchup very hard for Norrie to win. On the other hand, if Tiafoe plays a bit too erratic then it’s Norries’ match to win. I’d like to think that we get a very competitive match at least, something like three sets.

In the end, I do think Norrie is closer to win but I think Frances can keep us entertained. Take the over for the better value.

Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Aryna Sabalenka v Coco Gauff

Sabalenka and Gauff have played some amazing matches in the past with Gauff actually having the upper hand in this one. Their most recent one came in Toronto last year and Coco was able to win that one in three sets. It was the 3rd time she beat Sabalenka in four matches.

This year’s Sabalenka is on a totally different level playing the best tennis of all players probably. She’s attacking well, the serve is hitting and the confidence is palpable. Gauff has ways to navigate that but she’ll need to be really sharp from the baseline.

Her forehand is a glaring weakness and expect Sabalenka to target it. It’s been a common theme for Gauff in all of her matches and it’s proved quite effective. I’d lean towards Sabalenka to win because I’ve been impressed with what she’s been doing lately.

Still, these are slow courts, momentum shifts are common in the WTA so the over might not be a bad idea. I could see Gauff complicating things for Sabalenka.

Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
