Stefanos Tsitsipas v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between two players, both of which came in 2018. Both players won one apiece.

Tsitsipas had started off rather smartly this season as he helped Greece to the semifinal of the United Cup by winning all his four singles ties and followed that up with his sparkling showing at the Australian Open.
The Greek number one made it to the final in the season’s opening Grand Slam.
Later he would go on to win both singles matches in the Davis Cup as well but since then he hasn’t been at his best.
Sure, it’s been a matter of just two tournaments that Tsitsipas has played in this period but he would have liked to do a lot better. At the Rotterdam Open, Tsitsipas was bundled out in the second round by Jannik Sinner – quite frankly it was strange to see the duo clash that early.
More vitally, he suffered a three-set loss in the second round of the Indian Wells Open two weeks ago. That will be something he would like to remedy quickly but has an old warhorse in front of him here.

Gasquet Scrapes Past O’Connell
Since winning the title at the Auckland Open in January, Gasquet’s form has fallen away drastically. Which is why, despite going into his first round here as a favourite against Christopher O’Connell, there were always doubts over how the Frenchman would go.
As it turned out, Gasquet was stretched by O’Connell but by the end he made it through to the second round in three sets.
Gasquet was on court for an hour and 50 minutes in his 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win over his Aussie opponent. The only time that Gasquet lost his serve was in the second game of the second set where he fell 3-0 behind and then dropped the set as he failed to get any break-points.
It became a lot easier in the decider as Gasquet broke his opponent twice to claim the second round berth. Can he now make it to the third round here for the first time since 2016?
Tsitsipas v Gasquet Prediction and Tip
Tsitsipas could be challenged by Gasquet but in the end should win it. Might be bit of a fight though given Gasquet’s vast experience.
