Adam Moundir is a native player who is representing Morocco but he hasn’t played all that much on the professional Tour. He has only one match on the ATP Tour with most of his matches coming on the ITF tour. He’s not a really well-known player but he has some tools.
He’s tall and can serve well but movement can be a problem at times. This year has been okay so far with a 5-6 record but he did really well last year with 40+ wins.
Winning here would be a proper sensation and I think he’ll mostly enjoy playing back home on the ATP Tour. His only previous match before this one at this even was in 2019 in the qualifiers but he lost that one easily.
I assume that something similar will happen here but you never know. Tennis can create some amazing moments but he’ll have it tough.

Ymer Struggles to Qualify
Elias Ymer had to play the qualifiers to earn a place here and he did that but barely came through. The first match was a pretty tough one and he wasn’t too far from losing that one but he improved in the second set. This is a nice round one match because he’ll need an easier match.
It’s the first time he’s in the main draw in Marrakech and a second round looks likely. The talent is on his side and anything but a win by him would be a major surprise. He loves to play aggressively and he generally plays his best tennis on clay.
This year has been okay so far with a 10-11 record but he can certainly play much better than he’s been playing so far. Perhaps this will be a start of a good run for him.
He certainly needs the win for confidence and playing a player that is not on the same level as you could be good for him.

Ymer should win this match comfortably because he’s the far better player.
