Riccardo Bonadio had to win two matches in order to find a place in the main draw and he did just that. The Italian has been generally playing at a really solid level right now with a 15-9 record and 8 of those 15 were on clay courts.
He’s generally played on clay courts for much of his career so he is really familiar with them and should be able to contest some matches against some top 100 players. He’ll have chances in this one certainly though it will be a tricky matchup.
The Australian can play really well on clay which is not something you would associate with players who love faster conditions. Due to that, Bonadio will have to find a way and his best bet is probably to apply heavy pressure on his opponent.
Also keeping his serve will be crucial as well.

O’Connell Looking To Turn It Around
This has not been a really good year for the Australian because he’s only 8-11 on the year. He did have a decent start to the year but since then it’s been quite bad.
He lost won one match in the past month but perhaps a return to clay will make things better. He’s had some success in the past on the surface so perhaps it’s time for some more. 12-5 was the score on that surface last year and but this will be his first match this year.
The opponent is a fair one and certainly one he can beat but it won’t be that easy. Bonadio is a good clay player and he will beat you if you give him the chance.
It’s tricky to identify the winning condition for the Australia but he’ll probably need to be very precise from the rallies. He loves to play aggressive tennis but what good is that if he keeps missing often.

I expect this one to be a close and competitive match. I’m not really sure which player to back but I think the Italian could have the edge as he played on clay more recently.
