Miomir Kecmanovic v Jurij Rodionov Head to Head

They two met once at a lower level tournament in 2018 with Kecmanovic winning that match in three sets.

Kecmanovic Eases Past Nardi

Sixth seed Miomir Kecmanovic eased into the second round with a straight sets victory over Italy’s Luca Nardi.

The world no. 40 converted 5 of 11 break points and saved 4 of 5 to beat the world no. 161, 6-4, 6-1 in just 71 minutes.

Kecmanovic, who is playing in Estoril for the first time, has had a mixed season so far. He reached his third ATP final in Delray Beach but could not add to the only title he had won in Kitzbuhel in 202o, as he went down to Taylor Fritz in a three-set affair.

Kecmanovic was also a quarterfinalist in Adelaide-2 and reached the third round in Miami, but he has also been beaten early in the tournament six times this year. Overall he is 8-8 in 2023.

He looked in fine touch in his clay court opener. Can he keep the winning form going? He had finished with a 15-8 record on clay last year and will be hoping to match that this year.

Rodionov Rallies Past Ramos Vinolas

Playing his first tour level tournament of the season, world no. 120 Jurij Rodionov made an excellent start as he knocked out world no. 52 Albert Ramos Vinolas in a come-from-behind win on Tuesday.

Rodionov, who won his sixth Challenger level title in Biel, Switzerland, last month, needed two hours and 21 minutes to beat the Spanish veteran 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

The Austrian served 8 aces and saved 4 of 5 break points that he faced. He held 13 break points in the match and converted three of them.

Rodinov improved his overall season record to 17-8. In his last four tournaments, he was a quarterfinalist in Rovereto and Pau, a champion in Biel and a semifinalist in Lille. All of those were indoor tournaments. He is also a good clay court player and has won two of his Challenger titles on that surface.

How far can he go in Estoril?

Kecmanovic v Rodionov Prediction and Tip

Kecmanovic is the superior player. He was very consistent at the tour-level clay court tournaments last year and is off to a great start this year as well. Expect him to win the contest and reach the quarterfinals.
