Jiri Lehecka v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before.

This will be the first match between the 21 year old Czech, and the Serb, who is two years older.

Lehecka Sweeps Aside Moldovan

Lehecka had eased past Gael Monfils in the first round, and showed his growing confidence on clay by sweeping aside the challenge of the Moldovan qualifier Radu Albot in their second round encounter.

The tone was set right from the start as Albot was broken in the opening game of the match.

He did have break back points but was broken again and then for a third time, as Lehecka breezed through the opening set without dropping a game.

Although Albot held serve in the opening game of the second set, it continued to be one way traffic as he found himself two breaks down again.

The match was over after just 62 minutes on court.

Kecmanovic Made to Work by Teenager

Kecmanovic, who was given a first round bye, seemed to have an easy opponent on paper in the second round, in the form of the teenage Jordanian qualifier, Abedallah Shelbayh, who had not won a main tour match until this week.

It was the number four seed who made a strong start, breaking Shelbayh in the opening game.

Then in the fifth game which featured eight deuces, he had a break point to extend his lead further, could not take it, and paid the price when he dropped his own serve next game.

However, he regained control with another break and served out for the set.

In the second set, the pair exchanged breaks three times, and eventually it went to a tie-break to decide it.

The Serb found himself with three match points and, although Shelbayh saved the first two, Kecmanovic made the third count.

Lehecka v Kecmanovic Prediction and Tip

Although Kecmanovic is the higher ranked player, he struggled to beat his qualifier, whilst Lehecka swept his aside. The Czech is growing in confidence and a semi-final in this tournament would be another feather in his cap.
