Frances Tiafoe v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head
It’s 1-1 on the tour and 2-2 including lower level tournaments. Tiafoe’s tour level win came this year at the United Cup but the match ended after just one set as Musetti withdrew from the contest.

After losing all three of his previous opening round matches in Rome, Frances Tiafoe won his first on Saturday, when the American rebounded from a set down to beat Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in the round of 64.
The 12th seed Tiafoe, who had a first-round bye, lost the opening set against Altmaier after conceding the only break of the set in the eighth game.
In the second, Altmaier was the first to break and he served for the match at 5-4, but Tiafoe responded with an immediate break to stay in the match. He then went on to win two more games to tie the match at one-set apiece.
The American got an early break in the third and he held on to the lead to compete a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory in two hours and 36 minutes.
Tiafoe has already won a clay court tournament this year in Houston and thanks to it, he is 6-2 on the surface this year.
Overall, he is 21-8 and will look to improve that record further in the next round.

Taking on Tiafoe will be local hope Lorenzo Musetti who toppled fellow Italian Matteo Arnaldi in the second round on Sunday.
The 18th seed saved all three of the break points that he faced in the match and converted 2 of 7 for a 6-4, 6-4 victory that came in an hour and 53 minutes.
Musetti had mostly struggled following his solid run at the United Cup this year, but he has looked good on European clay. He beat Novak Djokovic en route a quarterfinal finish in Monte-Carlo and was a semifinalist in Barcelona. He was stunned by Yannick Hanfmann in his Madrid opener, but seemed to be back in form in the Rome opener.
