Iga Swiatek v Jil Teichmann Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between them and it came at the 2021 Adelaide International with Swiatek winning it in straight sets.

Playing in her first grass match of the season, Swiatek was given a tricky opening opponent in the form of Tatjana Maria. And while she did come through in the end by winning seven games in a row, Swiatek was taken to three sets by her German opponent.
Swiatek was on court for an hour and 54 minutes in which she registered a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 win over Maria.
What was troubling for Swiatek in the first set was her service games which saw her win a mere 61% of her first serve points and 50% of the second. Once she had improved that, Swiatek found it a lot easier.
The world number one loves playing on clay and has an excellent record in hardcourt competitions too but grass hasn’t quite been as good for her. As a top player, however, she would know there are multiple ways to skin a cat – Swiatek just needs to find her own for this surface.

Teichmann Scrapes Past Podoroska
In a match between two players who enjoy clay more than any other surface, Teichmann was able to find a way past Nadia Podoroska to set herself this second round meeting.
Teichmann, much like Swiatek, needed to overcome the loss of the first set, before defeating Claire Liu 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and 19 minutes for her first main draw since Strasbourg more than a month ago. Overall too, Teichmann hasn’t won too many matches with this being her second victory in more than three months.
And it looked like she was going to face another loss when Liu broke her twice to capture the first set. In the second, Teichmann upped the ante on her serve before breaking Liu in the eighth game to level things out.
One break of serve separated the two in the decider as well with Teichmann serving it out in the 10th game. She was forced to save a break-point while doing that and missed two match-points before completing the victory.
Swiatek v Teichmann Prediction and Tip
Swiatek might not be the best player on grass but she has enough fuel in her tennis tank to keep Teichmann at bay and should do that easily.
