They have faced twice before this and Swiatek has won both times. In fact, Swiatek has dropped a total of seven games in their previous two meetings.

Swiatek Continues Her Routing Spree

After having sent Lin Zhu packing in the first round, Swiatek made it past Sara Sorribes Tormo with even more ease as she routed her Spanish opponent in straight sets again.

Swiatek was on court for a mere 70 minutes as she sent Sorribes Tormo packing, winning 6-2, 6-0 in the second round.

While Swiatek was broken once in the first set after having taken a 2-0 lead, she came back strongly to break right back and go 4-1 up. Sorribes Tormo won the next game but little would she have known at that stage it would be the last time she would win a game.

From that point onward, Swiatek would go on to lose just five points on her own serve and break her opponent four times.

This was her fifth successive win on grass, having reached the semifinal at the Bad Homburg Open last week before withdrawing from that tournament.

She should not worry too much coming into her third round either given the kind of form she has been in.

Martic Grabs a Comeback Win over Parry

Despite being a heavy favourite coming into her second round match, Martic looked like she was in a big strife against Diane Parry before turning things around to win it in three.

In a match that lasted two hours and 10 minutes, nearly twice the amount of time that Swiatek had taken to win her second round encounter, Martic came back from a set down to squeak past Parry in round two.

Martic, who has had a good time at Wimbledon in the past, making it to the fourth round three times, won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to take a step closer to that record.

Broken once in the match, Martic went on to save six other break-points even as she got the better of her opponent’s serve on three occasions in the final two sets.

Having staved off the Linda Fruhvirtova challenge in the first round in three sets as well, Martic will know she will need to play out of her skins to come close to troubling Swiatek.

Swiatek v Martic Prediction and Tip

This could turn out to be as one-sided as the previous two meetings between these two players. Swiatek in straight sets, probably to not lose more than six games in total.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Under 17.5 games in the match: 4/6
