They played three times so far and Medvedev won two of those. The most recent one was back in 2020 and was won by Fucsovics.

Medvedev Cruises Past Mannarino

Daniil Medvedev wasn’t particularly happy to see Adrian Mannarino as his second round opponent but the Russian handled the match well. He was very motivated after losing to the French player a few weeks ago in Den Bosch and this time around it was payback time.

The match itself was rather simple for the Russian, a straight-sets win against a player who can play really well on grass. The Russian can play well on the surface as well and generally does though his prep this time around wasn’t that great.

It’s generally been the best year of his career with some spectacular showing earlier in this year even if the most recent results have been that great. He is an interesting fit on grass but generally tends to perform worse in the second week as the grass gets more worn out.

We’ll see if this year proves the same but for now, he’s looked pretty solid.

Fucsovics Navigates Giron In Four Sets

Marton Fucsovics has been traditionally a really solid player on the grass with his rather confident game. The serve is fine and the shots are pretty flat which works well on the surface. His best result came a few years ago when he made it to the quarter-final and he’s looking as good this year.

The win over Giron saw him overcome a slow start as the American took the opening set. Once the Hungarian finally settled, it was pretty much game over for Giron who is a solid player but has limitations when he faces some of the better players on Tour.

Fucsovics will hope to bring the same level against Medvedev and he will have chances. The Russian hasn’t played anything special on the surface though he looked better in London than in the previous weeks.

If Fucsovics can keep the rallies short and minimize his errors then he should have a pretty decent chance of winning the match.

Medvedev v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

I’m not entirely solid on backing Fuscovics but I do think we see at least four sets here.

Tips:

  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 3.5 sets in the match: 5/6
