Pera on a Three-Match Losing Streak

After having finished the clay court swing on a 8-5 record that included a fourth round appearance at the French Open, a lot was expected out of Pera on grass. Unfortunately for her, while Pera started off the grass swing with a win, things went south after that.

It was at the Birmingham International that Pera won her only match on grass for the season. It was a first round victory over Marie Bouzkova.

That was followed by defeats to Linda Fruhvirtova, Cori Gauff and Viktoriya Tomova, the last of which came in the first round of Wimbledon.

Pera will now return to clay, a surface on which she has done well in the past as well. This includes back to back title wins in this tournament last season and then at the Hamburg Open.

Can she snap her three-match losing streak?

Shnaider Coming off Wimbledon Qualifying Exit

Once ranked 88th, the 19-year-old Shnaider has fallen to 110th at the moment and that has been down to her underwhelming performances at all levels of the sport.

Ever since making it to the second round of the Australian Open, Shnaider has won three main draw matches on the WTA circuit. That has obviously not been enough for the four-time ITF title winner from 2022 to maintain her consistency and rhythm.

While she made the second round at the French Open too, it wasn’t enough to keep her in the top 100. And as a result of that Shnaider was forced to go through the qualifiers at Wimbledon.

She was ousted in the second qualifier there but now returns to her most preferred surface, clay.

Can she put up a fight against the pre-tournament favourite?

Pera v Shnaider Prediction and Tip

Pera shouldn’t have a lot of problems to break her losing streak here and grab this in straight sets.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Pera to win: 9/20
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Pera to win in straight sets: 6/5
