Fruhvirtova Hoping to Pull Away after Ordinary Last Few Months

She is just 18 years old and has the potential for a very bright tennis future ahead of her but Fruhvirtova would love for things to turn around for the season for starters.

Fruhvirtova had entered the grass swing on the back of four successive defeats on clay and then did nothing of note on grass either.

Sure, there was a quarterfinal appearance at the Birmingham International with wins over Bernarda Pera and Elina Svitolina expected to add to her confidence but things fell away after that.

She failed to make it to the main draw of the Eastbourne International and went down in three sets to Petra Martic in the first round at Wimbledon too.

Now returning to hardcourt tennis on which she has a 6-6 win-loss record this year, Fruhvirtova will think she has a better chance of pushing through forward.

Stefanini Hoping to Break into the Top 100

Stefanini is slowly and steadily growing on the rankings charts having risen from a 2022 low of 233rd to her 2023 season high of 105th. Currently she is ranked 108th in the world and one good tournament away from breaking into the top 100 on the WTA Rankings.

She would have probably done that way earlier but for a run of poor form in recent times which saw her lose five matches in a row before she entered the Gaiba Open.

The Italian player then stalled that with a quarterfinal appearance at the Gaiba Open, allowing her to add a few points to her tally. Later she would go on to qualify for Wimbledon for the first time in her career, following on from her second round showing at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Stefanini hasn’t played since her first round defeat at Wimbledon where she had fallen to Anett Kontaveit but enters this tournament on the back of the knowledge that she can compete at this level.

Fruhvirtova v Stefanini Prediction and Tip

While Fruhvirtova starts off a 9/20 favourite here, Stefanini’s hardcourt record means she will be no pushover here. Expect a tough match that goes to a third set.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Over 8.5 games in the first set: 1/2
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 10/11
