Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev Head to Head

In the 11 previous meetings including one in the Olympics, Djokovic has won seven of them. The last time they faced off was in the ATP Finals in 2021 and Zverev had come away a winner.

Djokovic Continues with Cakewalks

It has continued to be an easy outing for Djokovic who registered his third straight-set win to reach the semifinal. And this time around it was a top-10 player in the form of Taylor Fritz who had to bear the brunt of Djokovic’s prowess.

Having dropped nine games in all in the first two rounds against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Gael Monfils, Djokovic did not waste too much time in his victory over Fritz.

In a match lasting a mere 62 minutes, Djokovic earned five break-points and broke every single time. He romped to a first set bagel and the only time he found the going a tad tough was at the start of the second set when Fritz grabbed a 2-0 lead.

Fritz would soon have a chance to serve it for 5-3 but Djokovic clinched successive breaks of serves to seal his semifinal spot.

The manner of his wins points to Djokovic starting out in near-invincible form, and bet365 is offering 1/4 for his victory over a player who has defeated him multiple times in the past.

Zverev Sends Mannarino Away

Adrian Mannarino has been doing a good job on tour despite being a 35-year-old veteran. Against Zverev, however, he was sent packing easily as the German continued to show he is getting back to his absolute best.

Zverev was on court for an hour and 13 minutes and sent Mannarino packing 6-2, 6-3 to reach his sixth semifinal of the season. He has made just one final before this in 2023 and that came in Hamburg whereby the German had won all his matches in straight sets.

Such was the clinical nature of his win, Zverev for 72% of his first serves in and won 85% of those points. So much so he didn’t face a single break-point in the encounter while getting past Mannarino’s serve three times.

This follows a hard-fought three-set win over Daniil Medvedev in which Zverev had started off a 5/3 (with bet365) underdog. This time around against Djokovic bet365 is offering 14/5 to clinch this which seems to be par for the course given how things have been for Djokovic.

Djokovic v Zverev Prediction and Tip

This could be a tough battle even if it results in a straight-set win for Djokovic. We could see Zverev pushing Djokovic hard in one of the sets but the Serb should come through in the end.

Tips:

  • Low Risk Tip: Djokovic to win: 1/4 (with bet365)
  • Moderate Risk Tip: Djokovic to win AND Over 20.5 games in the match: 6/5 (with bet365)
