Caroline Garcia v Lin Zhu Head to Head
Interestingly, these two had met once before and that came way back in 2012 in Suzhou with Garcia winning it in straight sets.

Such has been Garcia’s form that as a world number seven she was forced to feature in a tournament in the week before the US Open. And having entered this competition on the back of four successive defeats, she was in a desperate need of a victory.
When she overcame Linda Fruhvirtova in the first round in straight sets, it would have come as a huge relief given the tricky nature of her young opponent.
What would have given her even more confidence now is her 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over Peyton Stearns, another opponent who is one of the most improved this season. Garcia was pushed by the American but a gritty effort from her saw her make it through, living up to her 2/5 odds (with bet365) to win it.
Garcia will now hope to continue with her winning run as she looks to enter the US Open with a deep run in this tournament. It could turn out to be a double-edged sword, having to play so many matches this close to the major but at this point of time, Garcia needs the wins more than anything else.

Zhu Dispels Grabher
Having wasted no time in dispelling Anna Blinkova in the first round, the 29-year-old Zhu continued her good form with a straight-set win over Julia Grabher as well.
Zhu clinched her place in the quarterfinal with a 6-4, 6-1 victory as she overcame an early loss of her serve to turn the tables on her opponent.
Down 0-2 in the opening set, Zhu retaliated with two breaks of serves to clinch the set. Soon after she had broken Grabher in the second game of the second set and soon took a 5-0 lead over the Austrian. While Grabher managed to get herself on board, Zhu eased to a win soon after that.
This will equally be a relief for Zhu who was also on a four-match losing streak coming into the Cleveland Open. Can she now overcome the 8/5 odds (with bet365) against her here?
