Quentin Halys v Benjamin Bonzi Head to Head

They played three times so far and Halys won all of them.

Halys Hoping to Start Winning

Quentin Halys has played some amazing tennis this year, but it’s not been going well lately. He played only one event leading up to the US Open and lost the only match he played there. It was a three-set battle against Facundo Diaz Acosta and a three-set loss.

Halys plays very well on hard courts because his serve is a tremendous weapon. He only has a 10-11 record this year and a 28-22 overall. He also played in New York last year but lost in the opening round to compatriot Arthur Rinderknech.

He’ll face another French player here, one he has bested several times. He never lost against Bonzi, so that’s a good thing because there haven’t been many good things lately. His previous win happened at Wimbledon, and that’s a while back.

It’s a tough matchup but he can certainly win.

Bonzi Back To Winning Ways

Benjamin Bonzi is back to playing winning tennis, kind of, at least. It’s been a shocking run of poor results for the French player who was once on the cusp of making a really solid ranking. Bonzi is an aggressive player, one who likes to attack and finish points quickly.

That playstyle is hard to counter when it’s working really well, but that’s the thing, it’s not always working really well. This year has been very poor in terms of results, as he has a 14-17 score. That’s far from his 35-27 level last year.

On hard courts, Bonzi is 8-6 after picking up some solid wins lately. His run at the US Open last year finished in the second round, where he was beaten by Nick Kyrgios.

This year is looking much more bleak especially as he’s playing a player he never bested before. The silver lining is that Halys isn’t playing well either.

Halys v Bonzi Prediction and Tip

While Halys has dominated this matchup in the past I actually think Bonzi is the more likely winner here. He’s been playing better tennis than Halys lately.
