Magda Linette v Daria Saville Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2017 Tokyo Open and Linette had won a final set tie-breaker in that one.

It wasn’t the most straightforward of wins for the top seeded Magda Linette but it was a much-needed one for sure as she shrugged off poor recent form to carve out a place in the second round.
In a match that lasted two hours and 25 minutes, Linette overcame the loss of the first set to clinch the next two with relative ease and march into the round of 16. She won 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-2.
Linette was far from her best in the first set as she lost her serve in the first game of the encounter itself. While she recovered to make it 3-3, Burrage had another chance to clinch the set when she served at 6-5 but Linette broke back again.
It was in the tie-breaker that followed where Burrage grabbed an early lead before winning the set.
Fortunately for Linette, she found her rhythm after that, breaking he opponent four times in a row to win the second set and grab a 2-0 lead in the third. She would add another break of serve before clinching the win off her third match-point.

Saville Has a Tough One against Friedsam
Much like Linette, even Saville did not make the brightest of starts in her first round match against Anna-Lena Friedsam.
Saville, however, did take the lead with a break of serve in the first set on two occasions but lost her own serve three times to fall a set behind soon after.
In the second, Saville found it difficult to overcome her opponent’s serve in the first five games before clinching that much-vaunted break in the sixth. She saved two break-points in the very next game and then levelled things out off her next service game.
The decider proved to be too much for Friedsam to handle as Saville raced away to a 4-0 lead before breaking her opponent one more time to claim the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
More known for her results on clay, having won just two main draw matches in hardcourt competitions this season, Saville is 6/4 (with bet365) to win this.
