Gregoire Barrere v Jurij Rodionov Head to Head

Unfortunately for Barrere, things have turned around recently and the once 49th-ranked player – which he achieved in July this year – has lost some steam. He has fallen to 62nd in the world and that’s been thanks to his 1-4 win-loss record in hardcourt tennis in recent times.

Rodionov Has Had a Good Time Indoors
While Rodionov likes his time on clay, his record in indoor hardcourt competitions are as good if not better.
In fact this season itself, his overall win-loss record across all levels of tennis has been 15-13 on clay and a whopping 16-6 indoors. Many of those wins for Rodionov have come on the Challenger circuit – including one title as well – but that doesn’t take away from the fact the Austrian can hold his own on this surface.
Even in the qualifiers here, Rodionov did not spend a lot of time in the first round overcoming Evgeny Donskoy before getting stretched a little by Rubin Statham in the second.
With Barrere having faced his own struggles in recent times, it should come as no surprise if Rodionov can give his opponent a run for his money despite being ranked 44 places behind him.
