Ashleigh Barty v Madison Keys Head to Head

The head to head tally between the two players is currently tied at 1-1. They last met in this year’s Fed Cup where Barty won 6-4, 6-1.

They have also met in the 2017 Roland Garros, where Keys won in straight sets.

Keys on an Awe-Inspiring Run

Madison Keys didn’t have the best of the start to the season but over the course of the past week in Paris, she has certainly reinvented herself. The 2017 US Open runner-up is now on the path to reach the semifinal in the French Open for the second time in a row.

Keys faced her fair share of problems on her way to the quarterfinal, most notably against Priscilla Hon and Anna Blinkova, where she was pushed to three sets. But apart from that, she breezed past the likes of Evgeniya Rodina Katerina Siniakova.

Earlier this season, she also won her first singles title since the 2017 Stanford Classic. She had a great run in Charleston, where she defeated Sloane Stephens, Monica Puig, and Caroline Wozniacki. In Madrid and Rome, however, Keys didn’t make it past the early rounds as she fell respectively to Sorana Cirstea and Sofia Kenin.

The 24-year-old is a player of great calibre and has already achieved a great deal on the tour. Barring her recent struggles with form, she has made it to the final in Rome, the Canadian Open, and the Flushing Meadows.

Barty’s Second-Consecutive Grand Slam QF

Barty has been one of the most consistent players on the WTA Tour this season. With a win-loss record of 24-5 and a pretty immaculate run, she has made it into the top 10 for the first time in her career.

She reached the quarterfinal in the Australian Open and now, has repeated the same feat in Paris too. Her victims were most notably the likes of Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins, Andrea Petkovic, and Sofia Kenin. Except for her match against Kenin, Barty won all of her fixtures in straight sets.

Between her run in Melbourne and now, the 23-year-old Aussie also won the Miami Open – the biggest singles title of her career, where she defeated many big names.
