Iga Swiatek v Ons Jabeur Head to Head

Their only meeting came at the 2019 Washington Open and Swiatek had won that first round encounter in a fighting three-setter.

Swiatek Routs Begu

On what is definitely not her most favourite surface, Swiatek has begun to dictate terms to her opponents like she had during her French Open campaign in 2020. And the latest in her list of victims was Irina Begu, who survived a mere 57 minutes in her third round match against the Polish player.

The world number nine was at her crushing best as she blasted past Begu 6-1, 6-0, breaking her five times in the encounter and saving all three of her own break-points.

Such was the dominance of Swiatek over Begu, the Romanian won just five points on her own serve in the first set and only one on Swiatek’s in the second.

Things have slowly and steadily improved for Swiatek on grass after she was knocked out in the second round at Eastbourne last week. Su-wei Hsieh pushed her a little in their two-set encounter before Swiatek registered a 6-1, 6-3 win over Vera Zvonareva in the second.

And with the kind of performance she has dished out here against Begu, there is a good chance opponents would be fearing having Swiatek as their opponent now.

Jabeur Comes Back from Behind in Muguruza Win

After dispatching Rebecca Peterson and Venus Williams with consummate ease, Jabeur looked to have finally met her match when she lost the first set of her third round match to Garbine Muguruza.

Jabeur, however, came back strongly to send the former Wimbledon winner Muguruza packing from the tournament winning 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 in two hours and 27 minutes to reach the fourth round.

What was stunning to note was the number of break-points that Jabeur got in the encounter – a whopping 29 of which she converted only five. That was enough though, with Muguruza clinching three of them and unable to find a way to break through at crucial junctures in the match.

Having already reached this stage at Australian Open and French Open, Jabeur has now added Wimbledon to her list of majors where she has gotten to the second week. And while Swiatek won’t be the easiest of opponents given her form, we can expect Jabeur to not throw in the towel that easily.

Swiatek v Jabeur Prediction and Tip

Swiatek is a clear-cut favourite here as she continues to improve but can she continue to keep winning in straight set? Sounds doubtful. A three-set win for Swiatek can be expected instead.

Tip: Swiatek to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
