Madison Keys v Harriet Dart Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 26-year-old American, and the British woman, who is a year younger.

Keys looking to Regain Past Success Levels

It has been two years since Keys last contested a senior WTA final, and that was on Australian soil when she finished runner-up to Karolina Pliskova in the Brisbane International.

Since then, though, the American has struggled for form and fitness, dropping out of the top 50 by the end of last year.

Now, with a  new season, she is looking once again to find the levels that brought her five senior WTA career titles, and a Grand Slam final appearance at the US Open in 2017, when she was beaten by compatriot Sloane Stephens.

She has also made the semi-finals at both the Australian Open and the French Open, and the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

Dart Achieved Doubles Success in 2021

Dart has made steady progress up the WTA rankings in recent years, and is now close to her ever standing as she starts a new season.

In 2021 she enjoyed her best successes on the doubles court, finishing w\runners up in the Mixed Doubles at Wimbledon with partner Joe Salisbury, and then clinching the Dow Classic Challenger title in November with partner Asia Muhammad.

Entering the qualifying competition in Melbourne, she first met Daria Snigur, the world number 153, and managed a straight sets victory over the Ukrainian women.

She began her second-round match against Wang Xinyu of China, because her opponent is ranked more than two places higher than her currently.

And, when the Chinese woman cruised through the first set for the loss of just one game, everything appeared to be going by the form book. However, Dart rallied, took the second set on  tie break, and then, having gone a break down in the third, fought back with two successive breaks of her own, enabling her to serve out.

Keys v Dart Prediction and Tip

Keys should win this match, and will hope to do so comfortably to give her confidence ahead of the coming season, but Dart will want to give her a good game.
