Stefanos Tsitsipas v Benoit Paire Head to Head
Tsitsipas leads Paire 3-1 and has beaten his adversary in their last three meetings on the ATP Tour. Two of those matches took place in 2021 itself with the Greek winning them both in straight sets.

After defeating Mikail Ymer in the Australian Open first-round match in straight sets, Stefanos Tsitsipas had to work hard to earn the next win.
That match was against Sebastian Baez and saw the number four seed battle for a little under three and a half hours to finally take the win with 7-6(1), 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4. Tsitsipas committed far too many unforced errors in that match (63 v Baez’s 48) but had a much stronger serve and overall play.
The 23-year-old, currently ranked World No. 4, is building on a remarkable 2021 season that saw him reach the semifinal here in Melbourne, Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open, the final in the French Open, and the title in Monte-Carlo Masters. Tsitsipas ended the year with 55-19 – an astonishing 74% win rate.
His buildup to the first main event of 2022 was a bit uneventful. The Greek featured in the ATP Cup and played just one match before picking up a slight knock and focusing on recovery.

Paire Knocks Out Dimitrov
Benoit Paire couldn’t have asked for a better performance ahead of this crucial tie with Tsitispas. The 32-year-old played Grigor Dimitrov and prevailed with 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-6(2) in three and a half hours.
It was a close game in terms of winners and unforced errors between the two players and Paire came out on the top only by the slightest of the margins.
With this, the current World No. 56 has reached the third round in the Aus Open, only for the second time in his career. He has never made it past this stage.
And going by his current form, the prospects of that happening this time around are quite slim again. Not only is Tsitsipas in a much better form and is an overall superior player, but Paire himself is coming off a bleak run and is mostly inconsistent with his results.
He featured in Melbourne and Adelaide events ahead of the Slam where he fell in the opening round fixtures. Then, in the first round here, he had to battle Thiago Moura Monteiro in a five-set slogfest to finally reach the second round.
Tsitsipas v Paire Prediction and Tip
Tsitsipas should win this one. Paire will put up a fight but the Greek should be able to fend the challenge and reach the fourth round.
