Stefanos Tsitsipas v Jiri Lehecka Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between both players on the tour.

Tsitsipas Continues Strong Run Of Form

Stefanos Tsitsipas was expected to encounter his first stumbling block in the Round of 16 when he faced big-hitting Ilya Ivashka. But the Greek dashed off any hopes of an upset, producing probably his best display of the season.

A semi-finalist at the Australian Open, Tsitsipas is coming off a layoff from elbow surgery and has surprised all with the form he has been in since his return to the Tour at the start of the season.

Up against Aussie Alex de Minaur in the quarters, it was a strong display by Tsitsipas and although it was a straight sets 6-4, 6-4 win for the Greek, the match was closer than the scoreline suggested. Tsitsipas now has a 7-0 head-to-head against the Aussie as a result of this win.

The top seed’s current run mirrors the exact same form he displayed on these shores last season when he reached the semifinal before losing out to eventual champion Andrey Rublev. However, the draw pits the top two seeds away from going toe-to-toe until the final this year and it remains to be seen if that is where they end up.

First ATP Event Wonders for Lehecka

Jiri Lehecka never played an ATP before Rotterdam with the Czech player scoring his first Tour-level win here as well. He followed that up with another win to secure his maiden quarterfinals and it comes at an ATP 500 event which is more than respectable from the youngster.

Getting here took a lot of work as Lehecka came through the qualifiers but they served him as great preparation for the main event. In the first round he encountered Denis Shapovalov on one of his bad days and took advantage of it. He bravely took down dutch top player Botic Van de Zandschulp in the next round.

Up against rising Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the final eight, the Czech was off to a strong start winning the opening set 6-3. However, it looked like the Italian had got a hold of the match equalizing with a convincing second set win 6-1. A tight set followed but a crucial break right before heading into a deciding tiebreak saw Lehecka close the set 7-5 and move into his first ever semi-final on ATP debut.

Tsitsipas v Lehecka Prediction and Tip

Lehecka has been on a dream run this week with the scalps of Shapovalov, Van De Zandschulp and Musetti and will come in here with nothing to lose.  However, Tsitsipas has looked strong and composed and with all his experience will be the strong favorite here.

Tsitsipas to end the Czech’s dream run in straight sets.
