Sorana Cirstea v Ajla Tomljanovic Head to Head
They have met twice in the qualifying rounds before with Tomljanovic winning on both the occasions.

A semifinalist in Lyon last week, Sorana Cirstea comes to Indian Wells in solid form. The Romanian is 9-6 so far this season and will be hoping to build on it at the WTA 1000 tournament.
The 31-year-old has made several appearances in the tournament, but has reached the third round just twice. One of those occasions was last year.
Ranked No. 27 in the world, Cirstea matched her best-ever Australian Open performance by reaching the fourth round for the second time in her career this year. She defeated Petra Kvitova in the first round and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the third round, but fell in a tight Round of 16 contest to Iga Swiatek.
The Romanian, who won her second WTA title in Istanbul in 2021, 13 years after winning her maiden title, continued her good form in Lyon last week. Seeded second, she defeated a couple of qualifiers, before beating Anna Bondar in the quarterfinal but suffered a tough loss to Dayana Yastremska in the semifinal.
Cirstea has lost just one first round match this year and she will be hoping to start with a win in Indian Wells on Friday.

Tomljanovic Edges Past Baptiste
Ajla Tomljanovic ended a four-match losing streak in the main draws with a three-set win over Hailey Baptiste in the first round on Wednesday.
The World No. 39 broke her opponent twice in the first three games of the match, Baptiste did pull a break back but Tomljanovic got another break to close out the first set with ease. The American made a resounding comeback in the second, breaking her opponent twice in the set and forcing the decider.
Pegged back, Tomljanovic started the third the way she started the first and raced to a 3-0 lead with two breaks. Baptiste yet again pulled one back but the Australian immediately restored the two-break advantage and held on to close out the match 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 in an hour and 52 minutes.
This was Tomljanovic’s first main draw win since her first round win over Anna Karolína Schmiedlová in the first round in Sydney. With the win, she improved her 2022 record to 4-4 in teh main draws.
Cirstea v Tomljanovic Prediction and Tip
Although Cirstea has never beaten Tomljanoivc, but she will be the favourite to win the second round contest. Expect her to advance and setup a third round meeting with either Alize Cornet or Anna Kalinskaya.
