Grigor Dimitrov v Hubert Hurkacz Head to Head

This will be their second meeting on the ATP Tour. Dimitrov leads 1-0, last beating Hurkacz in the Indian Wells Masters last year.

Hurkacz on a Roll

World No. 14 Hubert Hurkacz has been in brilliant form of late as he follows a semifinal stint in the Miami Open last month. He defeated a handful of big players there like Aslan Karatsev, Llyod Harris, and Daniil Medvedev. The Pole ultimately lost to Carlos Alcaraz in straight-set tiebreaks.

While he is yet to win a title this year (he last won a silverware in September 2021 in Moselle), he has been quite consistent on the whole. If Hurkacz overcomes the Zverev challenge, he will be in his fourth semifinal of the season. Before Miami, the 25-year-old reached the same round in Dubai but lost to Andrey Rublev.

One thing worth noting is Hurkacz isn’t particularly strong on clay; his ongoing quarterfinal run in Monte Carlo is his best result on the surface. The number 11 seed, over the week, has defeated Hugo Dellien, Pedro Martinez, and Albert Ramos Vinolas – losing just one set en route.

Dimitrov Stops Ruud

Former world number three Grigor Dimitrov defeated the fourth-seeded Danish Casper Ruud 6-3, 7-5 to reach his fourth quarterfinal of the season. Two of those came in ATP 250 events where he couldn’t quite make the distance; his last one was in Indian Wells where he lost to Rublev.

But here, the unseeded Dimitrov has done well to make it this far. He overcame Nikoloz Basilashvili and Dusan Lajovic before running into Ruud.

When compared to Hurkacz, the 30-year-old Dimitrov is certainly well experienced. He has reached the elite eight thrice in the tournament while in 2018, he went as far as the semis. That said, the Bulgarian hasn’t reached a final on the surface since May 2016.

The current #29 has his work cut out for him in this upcoming game.

Hurkacz v Dimitrov Prediction and Tip

Upsets seem to be the norm this week and there is no reason why Dimitrov can’t join the club. However, Hurkacz has been far more consistent this year and holds a lot more promise and endurance needed for this surface. He should come out on the top.

Tip: Hurkacz to win and Over 22.5 Games: 12/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
