Liudmila Samsonova v Chloe Paquet Head to Head

Liudmila Samsonova is 6-7 from all matches this season. The 23-year-old, who won the German Open title on grass last year, has reached just one quarterfinal so far this year and that was at WTA 250 in Adelaide.
The Russian also produced her best WTA 1000 result this year, reaching the Round of 16 at Indian Wells. But she lost her opening match to Madison Brengle in Miami. This will be her first appearance on clay this season. It’s a surface where she is yet to impress at the top level, but she has done well on clay at the ITF level, with five of her 11 finals coming on the surface. She has won two of those five finals.
Samsonova had a very productive season last year, winning her maiden title in Berlin, reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon and making the semifinals of two WTA 250 hard court tournaments, but she won just two main draw matches on clay at the tour level.
She will be hoping for better returns this season.

Paquet Qualifes for Main Draw
Chloe Paquet qualified for her third tour-level tournament of the season on Sunday with a straight sets win over Switzerland’s Stefanie Vögele.
Paquet, who had beaten Australia’s Ellen Perez 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the first qualifying round, needed just an hour and 13 minutes to beat Vögele 6-2, 6-3.
The 27-year-old Frenchwoman, who reached a career-high ranking of 103 this week, will be looking to break into the top 100 soon. This will be her third tour-level event of the season. She was knocked out of the first round in Adelaide-1 and in the second round in Guadalajara.
A good player on clay, Paquet has won six titles from 15 finals at the ITF level and she is 3-7 in finals on clay.
