Nuria Parrizas-Dias v Martina Trevisan Head to Head

The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 30-year old Spaniard, and the Italian, who is two years younger.

Late Bloomer Parrizas-Diaz

Spanish player Parrizas-Diaz has had to wait a long time to reap the rewards for years of effort on a tennis court.

Although she turned pro back in 2006, for years she laboured on the junior tours, lacking sponsors to help defray the costs involved, and, at one stage, a major shoulder injury threatened to end her career prematurely.

But she kept plugging away, and, in 2021, enjoyed by far her best year yet, reaching five ITF finals, and winning four of them, including a clay court event in Italy.

As a result, she ended the year inside the top 100 for the first time, and began the new year by reaching the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in Melbourne.

Her best performance since was reaching the semi-finals in Monterrey, although she then suffered first round defeats in Indian Wells and Miami.

This will be her first match of the year on clay.

Trevisan Has Fine Record on Clay on Junior Tours

Trevisan’s best performance on the senior tour came in doubles, when she was a beaten finalist in Palermo with compatriot Elisabetta Cocciaretto in August 2020. She also reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open with another partner, Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia, earlier this year.

Singles wise, all her successes have come on the ITF tour, where she has won 10 titles, all of them on clay. She finished runner-up in a hard court tournament in Portugal last November.

On the main tour, the best she has managed in 2022 is the second round, the stage she reached in Melbourne after coming through qualifying.

She was last in action in Challenger event on the clay of Marbella, where she got to the last eight, before losing in three sets to Danka Kovinic of Montenegro.

Parrizas-Diaz v Trevisan Prediction and Tip

The pair appear closely matched, with Parrizas-Diaz the higher ranked, but Trevisan playing on a surface on which she has had a great deal of success on the junior tours. This could go either way.

Tip: Parrizas-Diaz to win: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
