Breakout Year for Kecmanovic?

Miomir Kecmanovic has played superb tennis all year long and it seemed like we are witnessing the breakout year for the young Serbian. Kecmanovic has always been a very talented player yet he never quite found that breakthrough despite a few flashes in the past.

He has been one of the more consistent players posting a 20-7 record so far this year. He’s done it on clay and he’s done it on hard courts as well. Kecmanovic is simply showing confidence like he did not have it in the past and it’s translating to his game. He has a solid serve, he is good with both his forehand and backhand moves well.

He could grow a bit more physically but that’s likely not going to be an issue except in grand slams but he will get there with more experience. So far it’s been a revelation.

A Bit Lacklustre from Millman

John Millman has never been a world-beater in tennis but the Australian has been quite a solid player for a few years now. Millman is a known counter puncher that rarely assumes the attacking role on the court but that makes him very tricky to beat especially if you’re not a consistent player.

Dominic Thiem had that issue in round 1 as the Austrian struggled to produce a consistent enough effort to overcome Millman. A lack of fitness also trouble him especially towards the end o the match when Millman took over.

So far this year it’s been 7-10 from Millman who lost three consecutive matches before beating Thiem in Belgrade. It’s been a struggle for him and it won’t get better on clay.

Kecmanovic v Millman Prediction and Tip

So this in theory should be a very one-sided match. Kecmanovic destroyed Gasquet in round one and while he won’t destroy Millman that easily it’s widely presumed that he will win it easily. He’s been the far more consistent player this year and he played really good.

The first match of both in Belgrade highlighted their strengths and weakness well and Kecmanovic simply has too much for his opponent at the moment. Take the Serb in the Serbian capital.

Tip: Kecmanovic to win in straight sets: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
