Coria is at his happiest on clay and while he has not won a single ATP title yet in his career, he has already used his performances on that surface to climb up to 52nd in the world.
The Argentine, who has played 50 of his 70 career main draw matches on clay, is coming off a solid showing on that surface this year.
At Marrakesh, he was a win away from making it to his second ATP final before David Goffin disposed him off in straight sets. But that wasn’t before he had stunned Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and defeated Mirza Basic and Richard Gasquet to make it as far as the semifinals.

Zapata Miralles Easily Clears Qualifying Hurdle
Much like Coria, Zapata Miralles is also a clay-court specialist but with a career-high ranking of 110th in the world most of his strong performances on this surface have come at the lower level.
In fact, two of his career total of eight main draw wins have come this year having won the first round of the Pune Open and then again more recently in Barcelona. That latter win came against Tommy Robredo who was playing in his last career tournament.
Here in Estoril, Zapata Miralles was a heavy favourite to overcome Pedro Sousa, which is exactly what he did and followed that with a shock victory over Carlos Taberner in the second match.
Going into that encounter 7/5 to win it, Zapata Miralles demolished his opponent 6-1, 6-3 to enter the main draw.
Coria, however, could prove to be a tougher nut to crack.
