Raducanu Set for Roland Garros Debut

Ever since her stunning run to the U.S. Open title last year, which propelled her in the rankings, Emma Raducanu has been anything but impressive.

The 19-year-old Briton didn’t get off to a good start this year, going 2-5 on hard courts, although injuries didn’t help her cause. She got her first professional win on clay at the Billie Jean King Cup this year and also made her WTA Tour clay court debut this year. Raducanu reached the quarterfinals in Stuttgart by winning two matches. She also won two in Madrid, but fell in the Round of 16.

She entered the Italian Open this month despite a back injury, but couldn’t overcome the injury and was forced to retire from her first round match.

Fitness will be the focus as Raducanu begins her maiden French Open campaign on Sunday. Having never played on clay before this season, she showed in Stuttgart and Madrid that she can win matches on the surface. But having struggled with all sorts of injuries this year it would be a massive test for her to win matches in Roland Garros.

Noskova Qualifies for the Main Draw

2021 French Open girl’s champion Linda Noskova is set to make her senior debut at Roland Garros after winning all three of her qualifying rounds this year.

The 17-year-old Czech player, who had defeated Anna Blinkova in straight sets and Conny Perrin in three in the first two qualifying rounds, stormed into the main draw with a 6-3, 6-2 drubbing of Rebecca Šramková in the third qualifying round on Thursday.

Ranked No. 185th in the world, Noskova has won five ITF titles from six finals. She was 4-1 in the finals last year and added the fifth title this year in April. Having impressed at the junior level last year, she will now look to make an impression at the top level.

Raducanu v Noskova Prediction and Tip

If Raducanu is fit, her experience at the top level should help her win against the qualifier. Expect Noskova to put up a fight but Raducanu should advance in straight sets.
