Facundo Bagnis v Ernesto Escobedo Head to Head

They have never met on the tour, but Bagnis prevailed in a qualifying round at the U.S. Open.

Facundo Bagnis clearly struggles outside clay courts and has very little experience playing on hard courts.

The 32-year-old has a 5-17 career record on hard courts and is 2-5 on the surface this year. The World no. 120 scored those two wins in Melbourne and Indian Wells.

The Argentine most recently featured in the quarterfinal of Umag Open last week. Bagnis defeated Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Corentin Moutet in straight sets, but fell to Carlos Alcaraz in the last eight.

Bagnis was also a quarterfinalist in Santiago earlier this year. He has an overall season record of 6-13.

Escobedo In Poor Form

It’s been a while that Ernesto Escobedo has won a match. His last win came in the first qualifying round at the French Open. Currently he is on a seven-match losing streak including qualifiers.

Escobedo has won four Challenger titles, all on hard courts. His most recent success came in Bendigo, Australia in January.

The 26-year-old, who lost the opening round matches in his first two appearances in Los Cabos, went from qualifiers to the quarterfinals last year before falling to Cameron Norrie.

Ranked No. 158, Escobedo has mostly featured on the Challenger Tour this year, winning a title and making the quarterfinals thrice.

Escobedo is a far better player on hard courts than on any other surface and has a 15-23 record on hard on the tour.

Bagnis v Escobedo Prediction and Tip

Bagnis is the one who has won more matches recently, although mostly on his preferred surface, the clay. In contrast, Escobedo’s current form has been poor. However, he will still hold the edge on hard courts.
